Standoffs

Standoffs are used and designed to suspend and mount artwork, pictures, photographs, glass, and panels at a fixed distance from the wall. Systematic Art offers standoffs in various materials such as aluminum, brass, and stainless steel. The Standoffs offered through Systematic Art are available in multiple colors, finishes, lengths, and widths.

The Standoff system provides a secure and straightforward way to install signage, awards, glass, and decorative panels in applications that include but are not limited to hotels, lobbies, airports, schools, libraries, etc. high traffic public space. In addition to our standard line of standoffs, we offer security Standoffs and heavy-duty Standoffs designed to secure sizable outdoor building signage.

The Standoff kit will include four main components: anchor, set screw, barrel, and threaded pole cap. The anchor is used to secure the Standoff barrel to the wall by inserting the provided set screw through the barrel and fixing it to the anchor. The threaded pole cap is guided through the signage/panel and secured to the barrel clockwise.

The best practice for installing (Standoff/Standoffs) system would first position your signage or panel using a level and mark your hole positions. If your signage does not have pre-drilled holes, you will have to manufacture them before using the standoffs. After you have determined the correct hole size based on your Standoffs, dimensions, you will then proceed to drill holes using the compatible bit for your signage/panel. The standard Standoff installation requires four holes, evenly spaced and positioned 1-1/4" inward, top to bottom from the edge of the sig/panel.

After drilling holes thru the signage/panel, the sign/panel is ready to be installed. Step 1, mark the hole positions and make sure they are correctly measured and aligned. Step 2, after establishing your holes positions, four holes to accept the support anchors are drilled. Step 3, support anchors are inserted to the wall, and the standoff barrel is ready for installation. Step 4, the set screw is threaded thru the Standoff barrel and screwed to the wall anchor until firm and tight. Once all four barrels are in place and secured to the wall, your sign/panel is ready to be installed. Step 5, the threaded pole cap is placed thru the signage/panel (Sandwiched) and secured to the barrel turning clockwise until the threaded pole cap can no longer turn. Once all four threaded pole caps are secure, your installation is complete.
